Yamaha has officially unveiled the 2026 YZF-R7 at EICMA 2025, showcasing a major evolution of its popular middleweight supersport. The new R7 retains the punchy 689cc CP2 twin-cylinder engine, now enhanced with a ride-by-wire throttle system and a suite of electronic aids powered by a 6-axis IMU. Riders can now enjoy cornering traction control, slide control, lift control, and multiple riding modes, making the bike more precise and confidence-inspiring than ever.
Design-wise, the R7 adopts a sharper R-Series look, with improved aerodynamics, a slimmer fairing, and a new 5-inch full-color TFT display featuring smartphone connectivity via Yamaha Y-Connect. A reworked chassis, lighter wheels, and upgraded suspension deliver better agility and handling on both road and track.
To celebrate Yamaha’s racing legacy, a 70th Anniversary Edition was also revealed, wearing the legendary red-and-white colorway inspired by the 1999 YZF-R7 — a true tribute to the brand’s seven decades of performance.
Set to arrive in showrooms in early 2026, the new YZF-R7 blends everyday usability with track-ready performance, reaffirming Yamaha’s dominance in the middleweight supersport category.
