Royal Enfield, with perhaps the highest anticipation and arguably the biggest breakthrough in the higher CC era in Bangladesh was launched on 21st October, 2024 by local distributor Ifad Motors.
While Royal Enfield is nearly marking One year in operations, let us look at some of the ‘headlights’:

:: Royal Enfield has recorded the highest number of pre-bookings among all motorcycle companies in the history of Motorcycle industry. It has received over 8,000 units pre-bookings and delivered over 6-8 months time in periodical basis (first come first serve)
:: Customers experienced and built a craze among themselves because of the brand’s popularity over the years. The Brand equity itself escalated the over anticipation once the news spread about its arrival and it sworn in with super aggressive pricing making a huge statement to the competitors.
:: Over time, the retail sales of Royal Enfield has drastically fall down to a reportedly 60-80 units a month even after their aggressive approach of extending to 19 dealer points across the country. The question comes, was this the right approach at the right time?
:: A major underlying reason is most bikers in Bangladesh loves the high initial acceleration / pick-up on the streets which Royal Enfield by nature is not one of its kind. The common misconception among the bikers were (still), the higher the cc, the higher the top speed. However, Royal Enfield was never built for top speed. It is a classic retro styling bike that you use for stable riding, makes it mark on the road with its presence, not with speed.
:: Huge number of Enfield customers (6/10 customers) have been seeing posting in several marketplaces for reselling because of the unmatched expectations vs reality. The question comes, who is to blame?
:: Royal Enfield is currently generating revenue by focussing on after-sales service but there are huge concerns over their spare parts pricing and availability that forcing more customers to sale their bike.
