Atlas Bangladesh Ltd has stepped forward into the electric mobility market with the launch of four new electric scooters — the S-100, S-90, S-80 and S-70. These scooters are being assembled locally at the company’s Tongi (Gazipur) plant through a collaboration with China’s Zhejiang Luyuan Electric Vehicle Co. Ltd. The launch event was attended by the Industries Adviser and the Industries Secretary, who highlighted how shifting to electric two-wheelers can help reduce fuel costs, cut emissions, and offer more affordable mobility options for everyday riders. Officials also mentioned that the national Electric Vehicle Policy is close to being finalized, signaling broader growth opportunities for the EV market in the country. With this move, Atlas aims not just to re-establish its presence in the two-wheeler market, but also to position itself for the future. The company has also stated plans to introduce electric cars in the coming years, as part of a larger strategy to support cleaner and more sustainable transport in Bangladesh.
